4 Ways to Soothe Soreness at home.

Heavy, tired and aching muscles can make you feel uncomfortable, so it can be a challenge to relax and even more difficult to have a restful sleep.

Whether its lactic acid build up from exercise, a congested lymph system, the result of sitting at a computer or immobile while travelling all day, there are some simple strategies to soothe those muscles and ensure you a restful sleep and better morning. Try these out and see which works best for you.

Try a foam roller.

Simple movements that use your own body weight to target the muscles bothering you. Easily achieved at home.

Enjoy a soak in a bath.

Epsom salts (1-2 cups) and 4-8 drops of essential oils. The magnesium in epsom salts draws toxins from the body via the skin, and the essential oils have a restorative and regenerative effect.

Massage.

Pressure applied through massage helps to stimulate blood flow, can encourage lymphatic flow when massaged towards lymph glands, and irons out those knots that can develop in muscles. Massage is enhanced with quality oils – Whollygrail’s essential oils range are great to have on hand.

Ionising Foot Spa.

Draws out toxins and fluid through the feet, leaving the body feeling more relaxed. If you don’t have access to an ionising foot spa, a simple pampering of your feet with a paste of sea salt, bentonite clay and peppermint oil with the oil you have on had – olive, coconut, can be very effective. Our little secret is to use the Whollygrail Skin Scrub on our feet - it's so soothing, helps blood flow and stimulates the many nerve endings in the feet.

Whatever the cause, you don’t need to suffer with sore, aching and tired muscles. These simple strategies will help you rest well and rise better.
